After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will have an orientation and meet your guides for the day. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the gorillas. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours but is well worth the effort. The trek is thrilling yet challenging as you hike through the forest to the gorillas and once you reach a gorilla family, you will have a chance to observe the family nearby for an hour. Thereafter, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. This lake has 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it almost magical. Proceed to the lodge and once settled in; you will have a canoe boat ride on this beautiful lake and relax at the lodge.
